At FOLLOWT1Ds, we are united by a common experience: the consistent denial from schools to implement the necessary accommodations we request to keep our children with T1D safe in our absence.
Our Mission
We advocate for schools to FOLLOW T1D CGMs, FOLLOW parent input, and FOLLOW federal law. Our mission is to advocate for schools to comply with existing federal laws and adopt the current standards of care in diabetes management for each individual child, ensuring that our children receive the support they need to access their right to medical safety and equal education.
Our Focus
CGM Follow Apps and Future Accommodations
We seek to compel schools to adopt the use of CGM follow apps as a non-negotiable medical accommodation for those who require it. While our current focus is on CGM follow apps to be used at schools, our ultimate goal is to ensure that all necessary and reasonable accommodations are implemented and accessible at school, evolving as new needs arise.
We work collectively to pave this path for parents who feel isolated as they fight this battle individually in schools, districts, and states across the nation. By uniting our efforts, we aim to create a supportive community and drive systemic change, ensuring that all students with T1D receive the care and support they deserve.
